Music documentaries are all the rage these days, and Ed Sheeran will soon be getting his own. The British hitmaker joined forces with Disney+ for a four-part documentary Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All ahead of the release of his fifth studio album Subtract.

The Sum of It All is being billed as a definitive and searingly honest view into the singer’s private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music. It will be divided into four parts – Love, Loss, Balance, and Life.

Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis has very high expectations for this series, which will look at Sheeran’s life from a new angle.

“In this docuseries, we’re going to reveal a side of Ed Sheeran that fans have never seen before. Together with Fulwell 73, we’ve created something truly authentic and personal that will not only entertain audiences but also inspire them to dream big and pursue their passions,” said Davis in a statement.

Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All will start streaming on Disney+ on May 5, which also happens to be the release date of his new album (pronounced Subtract). The lead single titled “Eyes Closed” will be released this Friday.
