Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, and Cardi B sound like a match made in heaven, and the epic music video for their latest single “South of the Border” proves that’s exactly what they are.
The collaboration between the three beloved hit-makers finally got the music video it deserves thanks to the director Jason Koenig, who managed to make a mini spy movie along the way.
“South of the Border” draws inspiration for James Bond and employs many famous spy genre tropes while telling its story. It’s really worth a watch, so we won’t bother you with spoilers, but let’s just say that the plot revolves around an extremely valuable, and equally gorgeous ruby necklace.
Before being released as a single, this track debuted at No. 53 on Billboard Hot 100, but it’s safe to predict it will soar much higher after this music video manages to generate more buzz.
We can’t wait to see if it’ll replicate the success of Sheeran’s biggest hits from his new album, including the Justin Bieber collaboration “I Don’t Care” and the “Beautiful People” featuring Khalid.
