Ever since Ed Sheeran surprised us with his smash hit “Bad Habits”, his fans have been speculating about his next studio album, and he finally made things official. His fifth LP is hitting the shelves this fall and it will be titled =, pronounced as Equals.

= is set to be released on October 29th, and Sheeran teased its release with a brand-new single “Visiting Hours”. He also shared a tracklist, which includes a total of 14 songs, and expressed his hope that the repackaged version will include some of the songs that he wrote for the film Yesterday.

In an official statement teasing his next album, Sheeran described = as “a really personal record” and said it reflects many life changes that he went through over the years.

“My life changed greatly over the past few years—I got married, became a father, experienced loss, and I reflect on these topics over the course of the album. I see it as my coming-of-age record, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you,” explained the British hitmaker.

= will be Sheeran’s first solo record since 2017 when ÷ (Divide) came out. He’s been keeping busy in the meantime, and released a collaborative album No.6 Collaborations Project in 2019.
