The first trailer for Coming 2 America sees Eddie Murphy returning as Prince Akeem.

In the sequel, Prince Akeem is set to become the king of the fictional country of Zamunda, but first, he finds out he has a son that he never knew about. His son Lavelle, is a street-savvy Queens native. Akeem must honor the former king’s dying wish to raise his grandson as a prince and along with his younger brother, Semmi, they come to America again to search for Akeem’s son.

The original 1998 Coming to America, which was directed by John Landis, starred Murphy as a young royal who moves to New York City to escape an arranged marriage. Also reprising their roles as King Jaffe Joffer and Semmi are James Earl Jones and Arsenio Hall. Joining them in the sequel are Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, Wesley Snipes, John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Bella Murphy.

The trailer shows Murphy and Hall playing dual roles. In addition to playing King Akeem and Semmi, the actors play barbers in a barbershop.

Coming 2 America is produced by Kevin Misher and Brian Oliver, and the screenwriters are David Sheffield, Barry W. Blaustein, and Kenya Barris.

The film is set for a March 5 premiere on Amazon Prime.
