Elijah Wood Wants a Cameo in Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” Series

Elijah Wood, who played the heroic Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film franchise, has revealed that he is up for a cameo in the upcoming Amazon series.

It has been almost two decades since Wood first portrayed Frodo in the iconic fantasy franchise. Now, Wood has expressed his interest in reprising his role in the upcoming Lord of the Rings series from Amazon.

The new series will focus on a young Aragorn. The series will follow his childhood and will be set decades before any of the events of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings take place.

Wood is fully supportive of the new series and although it is unlikely that Frodo will return in the series timeline, he is still hopeful that he will have the opportunity to reprise his role in Middle Earth.

Speaking with IndieWire, he said: “If there was a world where that made sense and was organic to what they’re doing, then yes. Look, any excuse to get to go to New Zealand to work on something, I am absolutely there.”

There is no set release date for the Amazon series but it is currently in pre-production.
