Elizabeth Banks has lined her next directorial project.

The Pitch Perfect 2 and the latest Charlie’s Angels helmer is set to direct and star in The Invisible Woman for Universal Pictures.

The feature, not to be confused with The Invisible Man from director Leigh Whannell, which stars Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen, is based on Banks’ own original pitch.

Banks penned the script with The Girl on the Train scribe Erin Cressida. She will also serve as producer alongside Max Handelman for their Brownstone Productions. Alison Small will executive-produce.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, if a 1940 The Invisible Woman sci-fi comedy can serve as an indication, the story could have something to do with a model who agrees to be a guinea pig for an experiment involving an invisibility machine.
