The holiday season is months away, but Ellen DeGeneres already gave us an early Christmas present. Her comedy special Relatable is coming to Netflix, but we’ll have to be patient before unwrapping this gift.

Ellen will go back to her stand-up comedy roots for the first time in 15 years. That’s how long it’s been since HBO released her last special Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now. Her big comeback Relatable was filmed at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle, and she announced it in the most Ellen way possible.

The famous talk show host posted a video of herself talking on the phone with some of her A-list buddies, including Bono, Reese Witherspoon, and Barack Obama. She used this moment to announce both the title of the upcoming special and its release date – December 18. Emmy winner also teased the special on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and shared her excitement with the audience.

“I mentioned that I worked a lot over the summer. What I did was I went back to stand-up. I didn’t do stand-up for 15 years and I decided… I just all of a sudden was like I miss stand-up, I want to do it. So I made a deal with Netflix. And I was working on stand-up all summer,” said DeGeneres during the show.
