Dozens of tributes have poured in following the shocking death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

The 40-year-old tWitch, who was best known as the DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, passed away on December 13 after taking his own life. The news was confirmed by his wife, Allison Holker Boss, who stated that he “lit up every room he stepped into,” and called him the backbone of their family.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” she continued. “I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”

Prior to his role on Ellen, tWitch was a contestant on Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance where he finished as runner-up. He returned to the series years later as an All-Star and also featured as a permanent judge.

The sad news was met by tributes from fellow celebrities, including DeGeneres, Kerry Washington, Alyssa Milano, Matt Bomer, and Leah Remini.

“The world lost a bright light today. Twitch brought joy and love to people all over the world through music and through dance,” Washington wrote.

DeGeneres tweeted, “tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart.”

tWitch is survived by his wife and three children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.
