Ellen Page & Paris Berelc to Star in BuzzFeed’s First Feature Film

Ellen Page and Paris Berelc have signed on to the boarded gaming comedy 1UP, with Kyle Newman directing BuzzFeed Studios’ first feature film.

Berelc will play a gamer who leaves her college esports team due to sexism from her male counterparts. In order to keep her scholarship, she has to assemble an all-female team, so she gets help from a coach (Page), who has dealt with a gaming scandal in her past.

The script is written by Julia Yorks and BuzzFeed’s Richard Alan Reid is producing with Michael Philip and Jason Moring. Production is expected to start in November.

Page was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for 2007’s Juno and her other film credits include Inception, Tallulah, Whip It, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. She currently plays Vanya Hargreeves in the Umbrella Academy.

Berelc currently co-stars with Adam Sandler in Hubie Halloween. Her other credits include Alexa & Kate and Lab Rats: Elite Force.
