Emily Blunt is in talks to join Not Fade Away.

The 36-year-old actress could be set as the lead in Annapurna Pictures’ forthcoming drama based on the 2015 memoir titled Not Fade Away: A Memoir of Senses Lost and Found by Rebecca Alexander. The memoir is a story about a courageous young woman who due to a rare genetic mutation, is solely losing her sight and hearing. Despite her difficult prognosis, she battled her limitations and faced the world head on.

Lindsey Ferrentino is adapting the screenplay. The film is produced by John Krasinski and David O. Russell. According to Deadline, neither of them is wanting to direct the feature. Krasinski will also produce alongside Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night banner with Russell and Matthew Budman.

Blunt most recently portrayed everyone’s favorite nanny in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns. She is also set to reprise her role on the sequel to A Quiet Place slated for May 15, 2020.
