Many exciting projects have already been announced at the Cannes market, and Emily Blunt is set to star in one of the most exciting ones yet. She’s attached to David Yates’ next film Pain Hustlers and Netflix is eyeing the film for a reported $50 million.

According to its official logline, Pain Hustlers centers on a high-school dropout Liza Drake, who uses her charm, guts, and drive to catapult a failing pharmaceutical start-up to overnight success in an attempt to secure a better life for herself and her young daughter. As she climbs the corporate ladder, she finds herself in the middle of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.

Deadline is comparing the tone of this project to The Big Short, American Hustle, and The Wolf of Wall Street. The production is set to kick off in late August after the project has been introduced to buyers at the Cannes Film Market, with Netflix offering a reported sum of $50 million for world rights.

Emily Blunt most recently starred in Disney’s fantasy-adventure Jungle Cruise alongside Dwayne Johnson, and they’re both expected to return in a sequel. She’s also attached to Christopher Nolan’s next film Oppenheimer, which also stars Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Rami Malek, among others.
