Emily Ratajkowski recently shocked the public when she married producer Sebastian Bear-McClard after just a few weeks of dating. Now the 26-year-old model turned actress decided to reveal some surprising details about the engagements and the wedding itself during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

According to Emily, Sebastian “popped the question” without having an engagement ring, so he had to improvise.

“He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern [restaurant in New York City], and he didn’t have a ring so I was like, ‘mmm, nah,'” Emily told Jimmy Fallon. “And then he took the paper clip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring which I actually thought was really romantic.”

The couple eventually got real rings and decided to get married in the New York City Hall. Ratajkowski revealed that she planned for the ceremony to go unnoticed, but that the plan eventually didn’t work out.

“I guess I didn’t really know what I always wanted to do, which is maybe why it was so untraditional,” – she said. “I wore mustard yellow suit and a black hat which was all part of my plan to not be noticed. Well, everyone wore suits or sweatsuits and my husband is good friends with the Fat Jew, Fat Jewish on Instagram—they went to high school together, they grew up together—and he wore a white jumpsuit, like sweatsuit so I was thinking he would be the decoy. Truly didn’t work out quite as I’d imagined.”
