The Chernobyl star has joined ITV’s psychological thriller, Too Close.

According to multiple outlets, the British actress will star in a new miniseries from Snowed-In Productions for the British broadcaster.

Too Close was written by Clara Salaman and is based on the novel of the same title, which was published under the pseudonym Natalie Daniels.

Watson will play Dr. Emma Robinson, a psychiatrist assigned to work with a woman named Connie who is accused of a heinous crime but who also claims she can’t remember a thing.

Too Close is a brilliant script where you are never sure who has the power – the psychologist or her patient, or whether Connie is the monster she’s portrayed as,” said ITV Head of Drama Polly Hill. “I’m delighted that Emily Watson is going to play Emma, who will be phenomenal and I’m looking forward to working with Ruth Kenley-Letts and the team at Snowed-In Productions to bring this fantastic adaptation to ITV.”
