It’s been over a decade since James L. Brooks directed his last film, and he’s finally gearing up for an epic comeback. The star-studded cast of his next film Ella McCkay has been announced, and it includes the likes of Emma Mackey and Woody Harrelson.

Ella McCkay marks Brooks’ first film since the 2010 rom-com How Do You Know starring Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon. It will center on an idealistic young politician, who’s preparing to take over the job of her mentor, the state’s longtime incumbent governor, while juggling familial issues and a challenging work life.

In addition to Mackey (S-x Education) and Harrelson (The Hunger Games), this promising project will also star Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Albert Brooks (Drive), Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), and Spike Fearn (Tell Me Everything).

Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios, said they’re looking forward to joining forces with Brooks for his first film in years.

“As one of the most empathetic dramatists of our time, James Brooks has set the bar across film and television for decades. Jim is also a foundational element in the bedrock of 20th and we couldn’t be more proud to support him in his long-awaited return to the director’s chair,” said Asbell in a statement.
