Showtime’s mind-bending new comedy The Curse is coming our way this fall, and they finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first teaser trailer for this promising series is here and it stars Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder as a married couple hosting their own home-improvement show while dealing with a personal crisis.

Showtime’s official synopsis describes The Curse as a genre-bending series that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show.

In addition to the Oscar-winner Stone and The Rehearsal’s Nathan Fielder, The Curse also stars Benny Safdie, Barkhad Abdi, Corbin Bernsen, and Constance Shulman. Fielder and Safdie co-created and co-directed the series, in addition to executive producing it alongside Stone, Josh Safdie, Dave McCary, and Ali Herting.

The Curse marks Stone’s first foray into the world of television since she starred in the psychological black comedy Maniac alongside Jonah Hill, created for Netflix by True Detective’s Cary Joji Fukunaga.

The Curse was made in collaboration between Showtime and A24, and its first three episodes will premiere at the New York Film Festival this October. The series features a total of 10 episodes, set to premiere on November 10.
