Eric Clapton has announced a tribute concert dedicated to late drummer Ginger Baker.
The gig, titled Eric Clapton & Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker, will take place at Hammersmith Apollo in London on February 17, 2020.
Baker, Cream founder and drummer, passed away just last month. “Dad passed away peacefully,” his daughter Nettie Baker said in a statement. “He was in no pain and had recently been able to see and speak to his children, close family, and special friends.”
A rep tells The Rolling Stone that the family was consulted for the upcoming show and is “delighted” that it will occur.
The full lineup of performers is yet to be announced, beside Clapton himself of course.
