There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the third season of Euphoria, and the show’s creator Sam Levinson dropped some major hints ahead of its release. Levinson recently compared the upcoming Season 3 to a “film noir” and revealed the trajectory of Zendaya’s lead character.

Euphoria has become one of HBO’s most talked-about shows in recent memory since its premiere in 2019. This coming-of-age series centers on a group of teens trying to find their way in the world while struggling to strike the balance between love, loss, and pain.

Season 3 of Euphoria is currently in the making, but its release date remains a mystery in the face of the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. Even though we’ll have to wait for a while until the third season sees the light of day, Levinson knows exactly where the story will go.

Levinson discussed the upcoming season in Zendaya’s cover story for Elle and compared it to a film noir. He also revealed that the main character Rue will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”

In addition to winning two Emmy Awards for her work in Euphoria, Zendaya also starred in Levinson’s 2021 film Malcolm & Marie. He had nothing but words for praise for her in the Elle interview, and said that “she’s constantly growing as an artist and always seeking a challenge.”
