New cast members seem to be joining The Hunger Games prequel film every day, and Hunter Schafer is one of the latest additions to the cast. The Euphoria star is set to play Tigris Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Schafer’s character is the cousin and confidante of the young Coriolanus Snow, who advises him in everything – from his role as mentor to the core of his moral compass. The young actress will most likely have a key role in this project, since The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes puts Coriolanus Snow front and center.

The prequel film will show us a different side of the fierce President of Panem during his teenage years. At 18, Snow is trying to make his family proud after their fall from grace, but things get complicated once he’s assigned to mentor a young girl from impoverished District 12 at the 10th annual Hunger Games.

Schafer joins Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler, who are set to play the lead roles in this project. Francis Lawrence is returning to direct the prequel, based on Suzanne Collins’s recent novel. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s expected to premiere in November next year.
