The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has cast a shadow over the future of many highly-anticipated TV shows, including some of HBO’s most beloved series. HBO’s CEO Casey Bloys recently revealed that new seasons of the network’s biggest hits won’t grace our screens until 2025, including Euphoria and The White Lotus.

Bloys held a presentation on Thursday in New York City and shared significant insights into HBO’s upcoming programming. Most notably, the third season of the Emmy-winning anthology series The White Lotus won’t make its debut until 2025, but it won’t be the only one facing a significant delay.

Fans of Euphoria will also have to wait a considerable wait for the third season of this teen drama, which caused major concern because its main cast will significantly age out of their roles. The horror series Welcome to Derry, inspired by Stephen King’s IT, also won’t premiere before 2025.

There are still some glimmers of hope amid all the uncertainty, with House of the Dragon making a return this summer, and the press was even treated to an exclusive teaser trailer. The Last of Us will start shooting in early 2024 and is also eyeing a 2025 release date, while And Just Like That… has returned to the writers’ room for Season 3.
