The inspiring story of the creator of the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos franchise is coming to the big screen, and it just found the perfect director. Eva Longoria managed to beat the tough competition and ended up landing the directing gig on this promising biopic.

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is the brainchild of Richard Montanez, who came from humble beginnings and worked as a janitor at Frito-Lay before coming up with the idea for this tasty snack. His idea eventually revitalized this company and helped him accomplish the American Dream.

Fox Searchlight will be in charge of distributing this project, with DeVon Franklin producing it under his Franklin Entertainment label. The script was panned by Lewis Colick, who previously worked on Charlie St. Cloud and October Sky.

Eva Longoria is no stranger to directing and already has a series of TV credits under her belt. She helmed episodes of several popular shows, including Jane the Virgin and Black-ish, and is set to make her feature debut with comedy 24-7.
