The cast of Season 2 of The White Lotus was as amazing as it gets, but it almost starred another brilliant actor. Evan Peters, the Golden Globe-winning star of Netflix’s Dahmer, came very close to being cast in the role that eventually went to Will Sharpe.

The show’s executive producer David Bernad recently discussed the series at the Berlinale Series Market and revealed they were eyeing Peters for one of the key roles in Season 2.

“That part was the last part we cast in the season, and originally it was supposed to be Evan Peters, but for whatever reason – scheduling or timing – it didn’t work out. We were really trying to figure out how to cast that part so it didn’t feel like familiar casting,” said Bernad.

It would be fun to watch Peters star on The White Lotus, but seeing him miss out on Season 2 wasn’t a huge loss. He opted to do Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story instead and won a Golden Globe for his performance.

Will Sharpe was eventually cast as Ethan Spiller and he was a brilliant choice. Bernad revealed he called him in for an audition after being impressed by his performance in Giri/Haji and realizing he was “kind of a chameleon” after checking out his other work.
