“Everything Everywhere All at Once” Leads 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards With 14 Nominations

Shortly after announcing Critics’ Choice Awards nominations in the TV categories, this organization also unveiled the list of contenders in the motion picture field. Everything Everywhere All at Once is leading the way with 14 nods, closely followed by The Fabelmans with 11.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the contenders for the ceremony’s biggest awards—best picture—along with the likes of The Fabelmans, Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, and Tár.

The film’s directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert received nods in the categories of best director and best screenplay. The film’s cast received a nomination for the best acting ensemble, in addition to individual acting nods for its stars Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film is also in the running for multiple technical awards, from best costume design to best visual effects.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is closely followed by Stephen Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical drama The Fabelmans, with a total of 11 nominations, including best picture. The list of major contenders also includes Babylon and The Banshees of Inisherin with nine nominations each.

The 28th Critics’ Choice Awards will take place on January 15, 2023, with Chelsea Handler serving as the host.
