Ewan McGregor is fresh off his Emmy win for Halston, and his next big TV role will be even more exciting. He’s set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming stand-alone Disney+ series, and he promises that this project “won’t disappoint”.

McGregor picked up the award for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie for his work on Halston and took a moment to talk about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series following his victory.

“We finished shooting our series, and it was really, really good fun. I really enjoyed working with Deborah Chow, and I think it will not disappoint. The new technology that we employed doing it is cool, and it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did,” the actor told reporters backstage.

In addition to McGregor, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will also see Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse reprise their respective roles from the Star Wars movies. Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are some of the newcomers set to join them. The series will consist of six episodes, and it’s expected to premiere in 2022.
