After several delays and setbacks, The Flash is coming to theatres later this year, and DC finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first official trailer for this superhero flick aired during Super Bowl, and it sees Ezra Miller travel back in time to alter the past.

In The Flash, Barry Allen uses his super-speed to travel back in time to prevent his mother’s murder. His attempt to change the events of the past backfires after he ends up altering the future, and finds himself stuck in a reality where there are no superheroes to turn to for help after General Zod has returned, threatening their annihilation.

The Flash is the latest film to toy with the idea of the multiverse, and it will see both Michael Keaton and Ban Affleck return as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The cast will also include Michael Shannon as General Zod, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú as Barry Allen’s parents, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West.

After multiple delays caused by the global pandemic and post-production setbacks, The Flash will premiere on June 16. Miller previously made a cameo as Barry Allen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad before playing a bigger role in Justice League.
