“Fargo” Season 5 Release Date, Plot Details, & First Images Revealed

The fifth season of the anthology series Fargo was a long time coming, and we finally know what to expect once it comes back. FX confirmed that the acclaimed black comedy will return in November, in addition to sharing plot details and first-look images at Season 5.

Based on the Coen Brothers’ 1996 cult classic of the same name, Fargo was created for FX by Noah Hawley, and each season was set in a new era location, mostly focusing on a new group of characters.

Season 5 will follow a seemingly typical Midwestern housewife Dorothy “Dot” Lyon (Juno Temple), who finds herself dealing with the authorities after an unexpected series of events. North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm), who believes he’s above the law, is determined to hunt her down after she’s been plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind.

The upcoming season will also include David Rysdahl as Dot’s well-meaning husband Wayne, Jennifer Jason Leigh as his mother and CEO of a well-known debt collection agency, Joe Keery as Tillman’s loyal but feckless son Gator, and Sam Spruell as a shadowy drifter Ole Munch.

Season 5 of Fargo is set in 2019 in Minnesota and North Dakota, and it will return to FX on November 21.
