You probably noticed that The Favourite is one of the front-runners this awards season, but if you needed another proof – here it comes! The Online Film Critics Society just unveiled their list of nominations for 2019, and guess which movie led the way?
Yorgos Lanthimos’ satirical take on Queen Anne’s reign received a total of eight nods and made the cut in all of the major categories. In addition to getting the best picture nomination, leading ladies Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz also proved to be the favorites (no pun intended).
Alfonso Cuarón’s black and white masterpiece Roma was right behind with seven nods, while If Beale Street Could Talk followed with six. We’ll have to wait until January 2, 2019, for the winners to be announced.
