Fear the Walking Dead is coming to an end, and AMC finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first trailer for the show’s eighth and final season is here, and it teases a seven-year time jump.

Fear the Walking Dead serves as a spinoff of The Walking Dead, and it centers on two families from Los Angeles bending together to survive the zombie apocalypse. The show’s final season will see Morgan (Lennie James) and Madison (Kim Dickens) set out to rescue Morgan’s eight-year-old daughter Mo from the mysterious organization PADRE.

The new trailer initially premiered at WonderCon, where co-showrunner Ian Goldberg addressed the audience and thanked them for their support over the course of the past decade.

“It feels surreal; it’s amazing to be making season 8 of this show, and only because, at this point, everybody knows that this will be our final season… We made this show for you, and we’re so honored that we’ve been able to tell these stories for such a long time,” said Goldberg.

Season 8 will consist of two six-episode parts, set to premiere on AMC on May 14, before returning for its final six episodes later this year.
