The thriller from Lionsgate will be directed by Fede Álvarez.
Multiple outlets confirm that the Don’t Breathe and Evil Dead helmer has boarded the project and will direct from a script by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. Requa and Ficarra are the writing-directing-duo behind Crazy, Stupid, Love.
The film is quite timely — it’s about a pandemic, with zombies, and a story of a mother trying to reach her family at the center of it.
Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment are producing, along with Requa, Ficarra and Charlie Gogolak via their Zaftig Films.
