It looks like Black Mirror have started filming Season 5.
Local reports reveal that Black Mirror is shooting on location in Croydon April 25th and 27th. The Croydon Advertiser reported that Ealing Studios have sent out letters detailing plans to film in the area to local residents.
The letters read:
“I am writing to inform you about filming in your area for the well-known Netflix drama series, Black Mirror. If you are unfamiliar with Black Mirror, it is a series of sharp, suspenseful, satirical standalone dramas written by Charlie Brooker. It is hugely popular with its audience and strives to use beautiful locations within all the films.”
There are no additional details about which episode is being filmed and what the story will be, but retro-style shopfronts were spotted in the town center where filming is taking place. We also know that NME were contacted by the Black Mirror production team to provide back issues of their magazines from 1984. We’re guessing that at least one episode from the new series will be going back in time, not forward.
We don’t have any news on when the new season will come out, but we’re hoping that Black Mirror will continue in its trend of releasing new seasons at the end of each calendar year. That would mean it will come out at the end of 2018.
