“Filthy Rich” & “NeXt” Canceled at Fox

Kim Cattrall, Aubrey Dollar, Deneen Tyler, and Benjamin Levy Aguilar in "Filthy Rich"

Barely halfway through their freshman runs, Fox confirms that it has decided to cancel Filthy Rich and Next.

News that the two series will not return for a second season comes as the two shows are airing their first season, with NeXt having aired 3 episodes of its 10-episode order, and Filthy Rich having aired 5 of its 10 episodes. According to Variety, Fox will air the remaining episodes of both shows.

The decision to cancel is reportedly the result of low ratings as well as rising production costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filthy Rich hailed from creator Tate Taylor and starred Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall alongside Gerald McRaney, Aubrey Dollar, Corey Cott, Benjamin Aguilar, Mark L. Young, Melia Kreiling, Steve Harris, David Denman, and Olivia Macklin.

NeXt, an AI thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence, comes from creator and executive producer Manny Coto.
