This year, the Final Destination franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary. To celebrate, new details about the upcoming movie have been revealed.

The Final Destination films are a tongue in cheek horror franchise about teenagers who unintentionally cheat death. When they survive a freak accident thanks to a psychic vision, they each get killed in increasingly graphic ways throughout the rest of the film.

Last year, it was confirmed that Saw writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will be rebooting the franchise, Producer Craig Petty is determined to make it happen.

“We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen and police. These people deal with death on the front lines every day and make choices that can cause people to live or die,” Perry told Digital Spy.

“We rely on their good judgement, expertise, and calm demeanor. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death – but now for themselves?” he continued. “We’re thinking that the world might be an interesting way into a Final Destination movie, and one which can also generate unique set pieces in a very credible way.”

The sixth installment of Final Destination currently has no release date. More details to be shared when they are announced.
