This holiday season is bringing many festive movies our way, and one of them stars none other than Eddie Murphy! The Oscar-nominated comedian will play the lead role in Amazon’s Candy Cane Lane, and the first look at this Christmas comedy is finally here.
Candy Cane Lane centers on Chris Carver, the Christmas-loving dad of three, who adores this holiday so much that he’s given all of his kids Christmas-themed names. After unexpectedly finding himself out of work just in time for the holidays, he decides to make some extra cash by taking part in the Candy Cane Lane house-decorating contest in his neighborhood.
In addition to Murphy in the lead role, this holiday movie also stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Robin Thede, Nick Offerman, Chris Redd, and Jillian Bell. It was directed by Reginald Hudlin, who’s excited to finally share his Christmas vision with the world.
“I can’t wait for the world to see Candy Cane Lane. I’ve wanted to make a Christmas movie my whole life, but I wanted to do something fresh and surprising. It’s super Christmas-y, and it will hit you right in the feels,” Hudlin said in a statement to people.
Candy Cane Lane will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on December 1.
