The First Same-Sex Wedding in the Royal Family Happening This Summer

The British Royal Family has a lot to celebrate this year. With the Queen celebrating the 65th anniversary of her coronation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle getting married, and Prince William and Kate Middleton welcoming their third baby, the good news don’t stop.

This summer, we’ll see another royal wedding and it’s going to enter the history books. Lord Ivar Mountbatten will be the first member of the Royal Family to marry a same-sex person, his long-time partner James Coyle.

Lord Ivar said: “I really wanted to do it for James. He hasn’t been married. For me, what’s interesting is I don’t need to get married because I’ve been there, done that and have my wonderful children; but I’m pushing it because I think it’s important for him. James hasn’t had the stable life I have. I want to be able to give you that.”

The wedding will happen in Devon, England, sometime this summer.
