Donald Glover gave fans of Atlanta the best possible trick or treat they could possibly ask for this Halloween. The first teaser for the upcoming third season is here and it’s as spooky as it gets.

At first glance, you can barely tell this cryptic teaser has anything to do with Atlanta, but things become clearer once we get a shot of Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry). He’s shown wearing a big cross and a shirt reading “FAKE” in front of two servants facing the wall behind him.

The teaser also reveals one crucial piece of information: the new season will air in 2022. This news comes shortly after FX chairman John Landgraf said they’re struggling to lock down the release dates for the upcoming third and fourth seasons.

“The reason I can’t lock down a date right now is that it’s being driven by Donald Glover and Hiro Murai’s schedule and availability and the length of post, both for Season 3 while in the process of producing Season 4,” said Landgraf back in August.

In addition to Glover and Henry, Atlanta also stars Zazie Beets and Lakeith Stanfield, and it’s been off the air ever since its second season wrapped up in 2018.
