Ford V. Ferrari is coming to theaters this fall, and we finally know what to expect from this true story about one of the most epic rivalries in history. The first trailer for this promising biopic just dropped, and we can easily see it competing at the Oscars this year.
Ford V. Ferrari centers on the battle between Ford and Ferrari to win Le Mans in 1966. It follows engineer Carroll Shelby and race-car driver Ken Miles, who team up to make racing history by building a car that can beat Ferrari for Ford Motor Company.
Oscar winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale will take on the main roles, and they’ll be in a pretty good company. The supporting cast features the likes of Caitriona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, and Tracy Letts and Remo Girone as Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari.
Judging by the first trailer, Ford V. Ferrari may be on the front lines of this year’s Oscar race. Its release date also hints at its potential – the film is scheduled to come out on November 15th, in the peak of awards season.
