If you’re always in the mood for new comedies about the magic of female friendship, we’ve got one just for you! Lionsgate dropped the first trailer for the laugh-out-loud comedy Joy Ride starring Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu.

The official logline describes Joy Ride as “the hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery” and a “journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.”

The film kicks off with Audrey’s (Ashley Park) business trip to Asia going sideways, so she enlists the help of three of her friends—her irreverent, childhood best friend Lolo (Sherry Cola), her college friend turned Chinese soap star Kat (Stephanie Hsu), and Lolo’s eccentric cousin Deadeye (Sabrina Wu).

The rest of the film’s cast is also pretty impressive, and it includes Ronny Chieng, Lori Tan Chinn, David Denman, Annie Mumolo, Desmond Chiam, Alexander Hodge, and Chris Pang.

Joy Ride hails from the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians and Raya and the Last Dagon, Adele Lim, and marks her feature directorial debut. Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao wrote the screenplay and developed the story alongside Lim.

The first trailer for Joy Ride was released following its world premiere at SXSW, and we’ll have to wait until July 7 for its theatrical release.
