If you’re always in the mood for a good spy action comedy, Matthew Vaughn’s next film is just the thing you’re waiting for. The first trailer for Argylle is here, and it shows a famous spy novelist being plunged into an international mystery after her plots start coming to life.

The official logline describes Argylle as “a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller”. The film borrows its name from a fictional series of best-selling espionage novels, written by the reclusive author Elly Conway, who loves spending her nights at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie.

When the events of her book start to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, Conway must join forces with a cat-allergic spy Aiden. They must race across the world and stay one step ahead of a sinister underground syndicate, as the line between Elly’s fictional world and reality begins to blur.

Argylle hails from Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn and its star-studded cast includes the likes of Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Argylle will be released on February 2, 2024 by Universal Pictures, before being released on Apple TV+ at a later date.
