A sequel to Sony’s hit superhero Venom, titled Let There Be Carnage, was set to hit theaters last year before being met with several delays. However, the long wait looks to be coming to an end as the studio finally released the first trailer for the movie.

At the beginning of the trailer, we find Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and alien symbiote Venom trying to navigate their complicated relationship. After saving the planet in the first movie, they now have difficulties sharing one body and getting accustomed to each other’s needs. This looks to be particularly hard for Brock, who is attempting to get back to his old life and resurrect his career as a journalist.

We also get a better look at villain Cletus Kasady, who is portrayed by Woody Harrelson. The character was previously introduced in the first movie during the post-credit scenes. The trailer shows Kasady, a serial killer who is awaiting execution, escaping prison when he becomes a host of another alien symbiote called Carnage. Watch the trailer in full below.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is currently set for release on September 24th in theaters. The movie was directed by Andy Serkis, who stepped in for Ruben Fleischer, and stars Hardy and Harrelson alongside Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Naomie Harris.

Sony also revealed the first movie poster alongside the trailer.
