We can count on Wes Anderson to round out a star-studded cast for each of his projects, but he truly outdid himself with his latest. The first trailer for Asteroid City is here, and its spectacular ensemble cast includes more A-list stars than we can count.

Asteroid City takes place during a space cadet convention at a fictional American desert town circa 1955. This event was organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition, but it ends up being spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

Asteroid City is worth watching for its ensemble alone, and its cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, and Jeff Goldblum.

Asteroid City will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this spring before being released theatrically by Focus Features in June.

Asteroid City is Anderson’s first film since The French Dispatch in 2021, and we won’t have to wait long for its follow-up. The director’s next film The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar starring Benedict Cumberbatch will be released on Netflix later this year.
