Lawrence, wishing to seek redemption, re-opens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, as seen in the original film. This sparks the rivarly with Daniel LaRusso who has led a very successful life.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cobra Kai will premiere in 2018 exclusively on You Tube Red, a paid advertisement-free streaming service priced at $10 per month. The web series will consist of ten, 30 minute episodes.

In the trailer, the audience experiences a taste of the bitter rivalry between the two men. “I just don’t know why you’d ever want to bring back Cobra Kai,” says Daniel LaRusso to Johnny Lawrence. Then we see the three mantras of the Cobra Kai dojo: Strike First, Strike Hard and No Mercy.

Lawrence trains his new students that “We are not trained to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak.” LaRusso responds by saying “you may know the moves, but none of that matters unless you have balance.” The end of the trailer shows a middle-aged LaRusso and Lawrence meeting face-to-face and ready to fight! It looks Lawrence did not learn his lesson 34 years ago.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg wrote the premise of the series. Hurwitz and Schlossberg will direct all ten episodes of the web series.
