The Flintstones sequels series from Warner Bros. Animation is in the works at Fox and Elizabeth Banks is set to star and executive produce.

Titled Bedrock, the animated series is set 20 years after the original series. Banks will be voicing an adult Pebbles Flintstone.

The show will feature Fred Flintstone on the verge of retiring and a 20-soemthing Pebbles starting her own career. With the Stone Age moving into the Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock have trouble with the evolution.

Bedrock will be written and co-executive produced by Lindsay Kerns, (Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, DC Super Hero Girls, and Trolls: The Beat Goes On!). Banks and Max Handelman will executive produce via Brownstone Productions.

The Flintstones ran for six seasons and 166 epsiodes on ABC between 1960 and 1966. The show was the first primetime animated series and the first animated program to win the Emmy for Best Comedy Series.

Over the years there have been many attempts at new versions of the show including The New Fred and Barney Show and The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. There have also been several Flintstones TV specials and two live-action films. Back in 2011, Seth MacFarlane developed a reboot of the series, but it didn’t move forward.
