Florence Pugh Cast in Murder Mystery “The Maid”

Oscar nominee Florence Pugh will be producing and starring in the murder mystery The Maid for Universal Pictures.

The film is based on Nita Prose’s debut novel of the same name. According to Universal Pictures, the story has elements of Gail Honeyman’s Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine with an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery. The film centers around Molly, a maid who makes sure every room is left perfect, while she gets to know the dirty secrets of the guests. Before long, Molly becomes intertwined in her murderous workplace.

Josh McLaughlin and Chris Goldberg will be directing with Pugh and Prose serving as executive producer.

Pugh received an Oscar nomination for supporting actress for her role as Amy March in Little Women. She won a British Independent Film Award for 2016’s Lady Macbeth and the Trophée Chopard at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. She’s also known for her role in Midsommar. Her next role is in Marvel’s Black Widow which debuts in May 2021. Recently, she started production as the female lead in the Olivia Wilde directed Don’t Worry Darling.
