Almost Family won’t be returning for a second season on Fox.

Fans saw the news coming as the series didn’t receive a back order and it was left off of Fox’s midseason schedule. It was also moved from it’s Wednesday slot for its last two episodes to Saturday.

The series starred Brittany Snow as Julia Bechley, an only child whose life falls apart after her father Leon Bechley (Timothy Hutton) is forced to reveal that during his career as a fertility doctor he used his own sperm to conceive children.

Megalyn Echikunwoke and Emily Osment played half-siblings to Julia.

Back in January Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn told Deadline, “We have been talking about developing a series about how DNA affects who you are and your journey and it’s something that people are talking about all the time, with 23 and me for example…We are really proud of the show. We gave it a great time slot, we really tried to set it up for success.”
