Animal Control is one of the most popular new shows to premiere on Fox this year and its future is looking bright. The hit workplace comedy fronted by Joel McHale has officially been renewed for its third season.

As its title suggests, this sitcom centers on a group of animal control workers from Seattle, whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are much simpler than humans.

Community actor Joel McHale leads the cast in the role of Frank Shaw, an emotionally-distant senior animal control officer. The show’s ensemble cast also includes Vella Lovell, Michael Rowland, Ravi V. Patel, Grace Palmer, Gerry Dee, Kelli Ogmundson, and Alvina August.

Michael Thorn, president of scripted programming for Fox Entertainment, confirmed the show’s renewal in a statement, adding they’re thrilled that the viewers have responded to Animal Control as well as they did.

“The incredibly talented ensemble cast, led by Joel McHale, along with our creative team, Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, and Tad Quill – not to mention a menagerie of wild animal method actors — have delivered a hilarious series that is sharp, witty, and warm, week after week,” said Thorn in a statement.

Animal Control was created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, and the first season featured a total of 12 episodes.
