Frank Grillo Joins “Hitman’s Bodyguard” Sequel

Frank Grillo has been cast in the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

With the original stars set to return, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, has cast a new face for the sequel. Variety confirms that Frank Grillo has joined returning stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson as leads, as well as Salma Hayek. 

According to the outlet, the Captain America star will portray an Interpol agent who recruits Bryce (Reynolds), Kincaid (Jackson) and Sonia (Salma Hayek) to help stop a cyber attack. The story is set in the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of coastline in southern Italy.

The original’s director, Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes also returns for the sequel, directing from a script written by original writer Tom O’Connor. 

The 2017 original feature grossed $75.5 million in the US and more than $176 million globally.

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard began filming on March 2. There is no official release date for the film yet.
