The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival returned to the desert this past weekend, and it was worth waiting for. Frank Ocean used his headlining spot to share some exciting news with his fans and reveal he’s currently plotting his next studio album.

Frank Ocean was supposed to headline Coachella back in 2020 when the festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ve been waiting for him to make a comeback ever since. He finally agreed to return three years later, serving as a headliner alongside Blackpink and Bad Bunny.

Ocean’s set was shockingly removed from the livestream schedule, but fans’ clips that saw him dropping hints about his new music quickly went viral on social media.

“It’s been so long but I have missed you. I wanna talk about why I’m here, ‘cos it’s not because of a new album – not that there’s not a new album – but there’s not right now,” said Ocean during his Coachella performance.

It’s been almost seven years since Ocean dropped his last studio album Blonde in 2016, and we haven’t seen him release any new music in three years. His last two songs “Dear April” and “Cayendo” hit the shelves all the way back in 2020, marking his most recent official release.
