After much talk, a Frasier revival is officially in the works at Paramount+.

Kelsey Grammer, the originals series star, will return in the title role and he will executive produce. Serving as writers and executive producers are Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli, with Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon also executive producing.

“Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, both producing shows and performing in several, I’d like to congratulate Paramount+ on its entry into the streaming world. I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane,” Grammer said.

In addition to playing Frasier on the show, Grammer played the character in Cheers and Wings, which tied the record for the longest-running TV character.

Frasier is one of the most successful sitcoms of all time, with 37 Emmys over its 11 seasons and 264 episode run.

The series also starred David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves, and Peri Gilpin, who haven’t been attached to the revival. John Mahoney, who played Martin Crane, passed in 2018.
