
The 75th Golden Globe Awards Ceremony wrapped up on Sunday, and we now have a good idea what to expect from the upcoming award season. Hosted by Seth Meyers, Golden Globes 2018 honored the best in film and TV from 2017 and gave us a ton of surprises.
The biggest winners were Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri in the film category and HBO’s Big Little Lies in the TV category, winning four awards each. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri edged out some of the early favorites like The Post and Dunkirk, winning awards for Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama (Frances McDormand), Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Sam Rockwell) and Best Screenplay. Big Little Lies took the awards for Best Miniseries or Television Film, Best Supporting Performance in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film (Alexander Skarsgård and Laura Dern) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film (Nicole Kidman).
Other notable wins on Golden Globes 2018 include Gary Oldman winning his first Golden Globe for the role of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour and James Franco getting the same award in the Musical or Comedy category for his work on the movie Disaster Artist. Oprah Winfrey took home the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
