We’re used to seeing Gal Gadot play heroic roles, but she’s getting ready to switch gears in her next project. The Wonder Woman actress is set to play Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action take on the animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Brothers Grimm’s classic tale inspired many adaptations in the past—including Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron and Mirror Mirror starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts. These projects haven’t been affiliated with Disney and their live adaptation will draw inspiration from the classic 1937 animated movie.

Marc Webb, best known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man movies, has been tapped as the director. Production is expected to start in 2022, and Gadot will be joined by Rachel Zegler, the star of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story, in the role of Snow White.

Gadot is best known for her work on the Wonder Woman movies, but she’s been trying to make a shift to more versatile roles. She most recently appeared in Netflix’s action flick Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, and she’s set to play the lead role in Patty Jenkins’ Cleopatra biopic.
