Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, and Fabien Frankel will star in the series.

The photos show D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, and Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Ifans as Otto Hightower.

House of the Dragon has been given a 10-episode order and is slated for a 2022 debut. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood.

Martin and Ryan Condal co-created the series. Miguel Sapochnik and Condal will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers along with Martin and Vince Gerardis. Sara Lee Hess will also serve as writer and executive producer along with Ron Schmidt who will executive produce.

There are multiple shows within the Game of Thrones universe in the works at HBO and HBO Max. One of which is a series adaptation of Martin’s novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg.
